Sweet And Spicy Tahini Sauce
Tahini sauce is the perfect sauce for falafel or kebab. It is perfect as a salad dressing. It tastes good served in a tortilla or in a pita. It has a nutty, sweet-spicy-sour taste. Very easy and quick to prepare. You can modify it as you wish.
Recipe Modifications:
- Instead of ready-made tahini, you can prepare your own tahini at home by grinding sesame seeds (roasted or not), e.g. in a coffee grinder or food processor.
- You can use peanut butter instead of tahini. The sauce will then have a more peanut flavor.
- If you prefer a spicier sauce, you can add more sriracha sauce.
- Instead of sriracha and honey, you can use sweet and spicy Chinese sauce.
- Instead of sriracha, you can add chili paste, chili flakes or chili powder. Remember that chili in such versions is more spicy.
- You can replace the lemon juice with lime sauce or water if you don’t want the sauce to be sour.
- You can replace honey with syrup, e.g. maple syrup, date syrup or agave syrup. This will make the sauce vegan.
Tahini sauce is perfect for people on a vegetarian, flexitarian and pescatarian diet. Tahini sauce for falafel does not contain gluten.
