HOT COOKED CORN! This is undoubtedly the snack most associated with summer, holidays and the beach (at least in Poland 😉). How to easily prepare corn on the cob?
If you want, you can fry it additionally or grill it on a grill pan. You can do it in a dry frying pan or add a little fat, but remember that if you fry the corn in butter, be careful not to burn it!

You can cook the corn in plain salted water, but if you want it to have a characteristic sweet flavor, add a little sugar and milk.
To make sure that the corn fits easily into the pot, it is a good idea to cut each cob in half.

The amount of water and milk given in the recipe is approximate, it is important that the corn can swim freely in the water so as not to burn the pot.

How long to cook corn?
Corn cobs only need to be cooked for 15-20 minutes. Counting from the moment the corn is thrown into the boiling water.

The corn is ready when it changes color from white yellow to intensely golden and the fork penetrates the corn grains smoothly.

What can you serve corn cobs with?
Corn goes well with fried chicken, but you can also serve the corn itself with interesting additions, e.g. tomato salsa and nachos, pesto and parmesan, honey and peanuts, sriracha mayo sauce and chips, teriyaki sauce and sesame seeds, guacamole, peanut butter, BBQ sauce or bacon.

What to do with cooked corn?
If you don’t want to eat corn straight from the cob or you’ve cooked too much of it and you’re wondering what to do with it next, you can cut the kernels off the cob with a knife and you’ll get corn just like from a can. You can add such seeds to sauce, soup, pizza, casseroles, burritos, chilli, salads ets.

Should I cook corn covered or uncovered?
You do not have to cover the corn, but if you do cover the pot, make sure that the water level in the pot is not too high so that the water does not boil over, or leave the lid ajar.

Corn is perfect for people on a vegetarian, flexitarian and pescatarian diet.

Corn on the cob Recipe

Ingredients
 
 

  • 2 corn cobs
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 250 ml milk
  • 2 l water

Additionally

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions
 

  • Boil a few liters of water with salt, sugar and milk in a pot. Throw the corn cobs into boiling water (you can cut them into smaller pieces first). Cook the corn for about 15-20 minutes.
    2 corn cobs, 1 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp salt, 250 ml milk, 2 l water
  • You can grill the cooked corn in a pan or spread it with butter and sprinkle with salt.
    1 tbsp butter, 1 pinch salt
