Baked Sea Bream

This is a simple and universal recipe for any fish from the oven. Just a few spices and that’s it! Thanks to baking in paper, the fish does not dry out, it remains soft and juicy. Remember, when buying baking paper, make sure to what temperature it can be safely used!

What to season Sea Bream with?
I add rosemary, thyme, salt, butter and lemon slices to the sea bream. You can replace fresh herbs with dried ones. The fish does not need to be heavily seasoned so as not to dominate its delicate taste

Is sea bream bony?
Dorada has few bones. It is easy to eat, it does not have small thin bones like herring or trout, which often discourages you from eating these fish.

Is sea bream fish good?
Dorada has tasty, white, lean meat. It can be fried, grilled, baked and steamed. It does not require a lot of spices.

What sides go with sea bream?
Together with sea bream, you can bake e.g. potatoes and carrots, which will go perfectly with it. You can also serve fish with rice, fries, boiled potatoes and salad.

Sea bream is perfect for mediterranean, vegetarian, flexitarian and pescatarian diets.

The following proportions make 2 portions of approx. 500g of fish.

Baked Sea Bream Recipe

Ingredients
 
 

  • 2 sea breams (about 1 kg)
  • 2 slices lemon
  • 2 sprig rosemary
  • 1 bunch thyme
  • 3 tsp salt
  • 20 g butter

Instructions
 

  • Wash the fish thoroughly and dry it. Put baking paper on the baking sheet. Sprinkle about 1 teaspoon of salt on the paper (in the place where the fish will lie).
    Put the dried fish on the salt.
    Put a sprig of rosemary, a few sprigs of thyme, a slice of lemon, about 10 g of butter and ½ teaspoon of salt inside 1 fish. Repeat the same for the second fish. Sprinkle the top of the fish with salt.

  • Then wrap the fish in paper as in the video below. Put the fish in the oven preheated to 200 ° C (392 °F) and bake for 30 minutes. Unwrap the baked fish from the paper and put it on a plate. Enjoy your meal!
