Mushroom Bruschetta with Gruyere and Thyme
Quick and easy wild mushroom on baguette or sourdough bread baked with Gruyère cheese or maybe Parmesan? They will work well as an appetizer or snack, for a party or afternoon tea. They fit perfectly into the autumn climate. If you are looking for an idea for what to prepare with freshly picked mushrooms or those that have been lying around in the freezer, try these oven-baked sandwiches!
Recipe modifications:
- You can replace Gruyère cheese with another aromatic cheese, e.g. Parmesan, Grana Padano, Pecorino Romano or even Cheddar. You can also use any other cheese that melts well.
- You can replace the baguette with any bread, e.g. ciabatta or sourdough bread.
- You can use both frozen and fresh mushrooms. I recommend bay boletes or boletus mushrooms the most. When using fresh mushrooms, remember to peel them, slice them and then boil them for 15-30 minutes, depending on the type of mushroom. Pour off the water after boiling the mushrooms. Boiling the mushrooms will make them more digestible and they will definitely not be bitter.
The proportions given below make about 10 small mushroom bruschetta weighing about 60 g. Read the step-by-step recipe on how to prepare baguette with wild mushrooms and watch the video below the recipe.
