Fried sausage with onion – there is probably no simpler recipe for dinner. Add mashed potatoes and pickled cucumber or sauerkraut salad – DELICIOUS! Such fried sausage is also an alternative to grilled sausage when the weather is not cooperating.
The most important thing is which sausage you choose, because the entire taste depends on it. I used Bydgoska sausage for this recipe and I highly recommend it for both frying and grilling. This is a raw, smoked sausage, but of course you can use any sausage you like. If you’re not a fan of fried onions, you don’t have to add them, but I love them.

Remember to throw the sausage into a hot pan and do not add too much oil because the sausage itself already has fat and we don’t want it to be swimming in it.

I do not add any spices except salt because the smoked sausage is tasty and spiced on its own. If you use a less aromatic sausage, you can add e.g. barbecue seasoning or a mixture of herbs, e.g. Italian herbs.
